The most played romantic love songs of last year are revealed, with one in every 20 songs played in 2011 including the word ‘love’ in its title.

The most romantic day of the year is upon us and PPL today reveals the most played love songs of last year.

The unstoppable Adele is at number one with her haunting hit single, a cover of Bob Dylan's, Make you Feel My Love and heartthrob boy band JLS appear twice in the top ten, at number two with Love You More and at number nine with Everybody in Love.

The oldest song in the top ten is the classic It Must Be Love by Madness. Also a cover, it was originally a song by Labi Siffre, and Madness released their version in 1981.

Music is indeed the food of love as PPL can also reveal that last year one in every 20 songs played on the radio and used in public featured the word love or variations of love in the title - lovely, lover, loving, etc.

The list is compiled from PPL's exclusive data which includes TV, radio and online usage as well as songs played in bars, shops, restaurants, gyms and other public places that use music.
