PPL a finalist in two customer service awards

Shortlisted in both the European Call Centre and Customer Service Awards and the UK Customer Experience Awards 2012.

Music licensing company PPL has been shortlisted as a finalist for two separate and highly prestigious customer service awards.

PPL is one of eight finalists in the Small Contact Centre of the Year category in The European Call Centre and Customer Service Awards 2012 and also in the Customer Experience Business to Business category in the UK Customer Experience Awards.

"At PPL we aim to deliver a first class service at all times," said Richard Rumbelow, Quality Manager at PPL. "It is a very challenging role to be the first point of contact for customers and our call centre staff handle this responsibility with the right balance of professionalism and enthusiasm. It is a testament to all of them that we have been shortlisted."

PPL will now receive a site visit from the judges for the European Call Centre Awards who will spend time with members of staff and team leaders, listen to phone calls as they happen and monitor how PPL call centre staff respond and engage with their customers in real time.

There are 90 members of staff operating the phones in the PPL office and on average the staff receives over 12,000 calls a month from thousands of licensees. Queries can range from helping existing customers manage their account, issuing licences to new businesses and ensuring that customers are on the tariff that is right for them.

"To be shortlisted in not just one but two different awards recognising customer service is absolutely fantastic," said Christine Geissmar, Operations Director, PPL. "It really was very tough competition and the team worked extremely hard in their entry submissions. We look forward to seeing what the results nights will bring."

The winners will be announced at The UK-CE Awards which take place on Friday 21st September 2012 at The Connaught Rooms, London and The ECCCSA awards, taking place on 2nd October 2012 at the Park Lane Hilton, London.
